About Us:

Sa’aliyaš Ranch is more than just a working farm—it’s a hub for education, innovation, and community connection. In partnership with Ventura Unified School District, the ranch serves as a hands-on learning facility designed to inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders.

High school students benefit from cutting-edge vocational training in agriculture, while students in grades 3–8 are welcomed for immersive field trips. These younger learners engage in exciting STEM-based activities and projects that offer a deeper understanding of Ventura County’s vital agriculture industry.

Spanning four acres, Sa’aliyaš Ranch features an indoor classroom and lab, an outdoor learning space, and advanced agricultural technologies. Our crops represent key fruits and vegetables that are grown in Ventura County.

About the Name:

Indigenous people have inhabited the coastal regions of Southern California for at least 11,000 years. The areas around Ventura were home to the Ventureño band of Chumash Mission Indians.

In their native language, Sa’aliyaš (pronounced Sa-Aleeash) means “on the path.” This is a fitting name for our facility, as it not only honors the original stewards of the land on which we farm, but also symbolizes the educational and vocational journey our students embark on as they explore careers in agriculture.

This powerful metaphor highlights a foundation rooted in scientific inquiry, cultural understanding, and historical appreciation—reminding us of the beauty and significance of the place where we live and learn.
